One of TerraDat's latest acquisitions is the state-of-the-art Sensys Magneto MX magnetic gradiometry system. This system exemplifies our commitment to providing top-tier geophysical survey capabilities, particularly in archaeological geophysics.
At the heart of the Magneto MX system are eight advanced Sensys gradiometer probes, each mounted on a custom-designed cart. This innovative design maximizes data coverage and significantly enhances the detail and resolution of magnetic field measurements. The probes, spaced at intervals of 0.5 meters, offer a resolution twice as high as conventional walked gradiometry surveys, making it an incredible tool for detailed archaeological investigations.
A key feature of the Magneto MX is its integration with Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) GPS technology, which provides sub-centimetre positioning accuracy. This level of precision is crucial for archaeological surveys, where detailed mapping and accurate localisation of anomalous features are imperative. The system is designed for ease of use and can be towed behind a 4x4 vehicle or an ATV, thus facilitating swift and efficient coverage of large survey areas with a swath width of up to 3.5 meters.
